The Insurance Authority and Emirates Institute of Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS) organize 95 training programs in insurance in 2012

The Insurance Authority and EIBFS issued a detailed book on the annual training sessions for the insurance sector in 2012 in Arabic and English languages containing details of sessions in insurance, management, English language and the policies adopted in the training.
The training plan for the insurance sector this year encompasses several training programs the most salient of them; life assurance, personal accidents, two programs in Islamic insurance “Takaful”, property insurance, general insurance, marine insurance, risk management, two programs in introduction to insurance, introduction to documentation, liability insurance, motor vehicle insurance, principles of underwriting and practices, medical and health insurance, TPA, re-insurance, engineering insurance and fire insurance in addition to training programs in management such as electronic insurance, insurance distribution, selling insurance products, creative thinking, problem solving, negotiation and leadership skills, means of effective communication and other programs in developing English language skills.
H.E. Fatima Mohammed Ishaq Al Awadi, Deputy Director General of the Insurance Authority said in the preface of the book that supporting Emiratization policies and availing qualified national cadres able to develop performance of the insurance sectors is deemed a core objective of the Insurance Authority and a main element in its daily work and strategic plans.
H.E. added that the Insurance Authority has been working since the issuance of the Federal Law No 6 of 2007 on establishment of the Insurance Authority in coordination with Hyman Resources Department Committee in Banking and Financial Sector (HRDC-BS), Emirates Institute of Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS) and Emirates Insurance Association (EIA) to prepare and develop plans aiming to enhance performance and efficiencies of the employees of the insurance sector, indicating that the Insurance Authority is allotting a lot of time and resources to attain positive results of planning and cooperating with the entities responsible for providing specialized educational programs directed towards serving UAE insurance sector within annual plans aiming at acquiring skills and enhancing positive work trends.
H.E. said that the training plan of 2012 encompasses 95 training programs will be presented in the Institute’s branches in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai in addition to some programs will be presented in Al Ain and Fujairah, indicating that this plan comes as an extension of and in continuation of the joint efforts of the Insurance Authority and the Institute in favor of UAE insurance sector.
The Deputy Director General of the Insurance Authority urged all insurance companies to benefit out of the training programs to attain their objectives and their employees’ aspirations, a matter that will have positive reflection on UAE insurance market.
H.E. presented her thanks and expressed her appreciation to all those who participated in preparation of the annual training session for the insurance sector, expressing hope to enhance cooperation to improve capacities of the nationals working for the insurance companies and attain interests of the local insurance market and the national economy as well.
H.E. indicated that the annual plan to develop human resources in insurance sector for the year 2012 encompassed 95 training programs in 13% increase against last year’s plan, indicating that 41 of these programs will be presented in Sharjah, 38 in Abu Dhabi and 12 in Dubai and 2 in Fujairah and AL Ain.
In his turn H.E. Jamal Ahmed Al Jassim, General Director of EIBFS said in the preface of the book that the Institute is working in cooperation and coordination with the Insurance Authority, EIA and the insurance companies to develop the annual plans of developing human resources in insurance sector.
He presented his thanks and appreciation to the Insurance Authority and the companies for their continuous cooperation in accomplishing the training plan for the insurance sector.
He expressed his hope that the plan achieves its targeted objectives in developing human resources and increasing Emiratization rate in insurance sector, calling the companies to encourage their employees to participate in order to increase their knowledge and refine their skills.
Performance of the Insurance Authority is characterized for creativity in implementing the advance practical initiatives to develop the plans aimed to develop experiences and efficiencies of the national cadres working in the insurance companies in particular and to enhance performance of the employees of the insurance sector in general, as the Insurance Authority issued many resolutions and directive supportive of Emiratization in this sector in addition to organization of tenth training initiatives all over the emirates aiming to developing experiences of the national cadres.
