The UAE and Sultanate of Oman agreed to take all measure that can contribute to solving the motor insurance problems between the two countries.

 

This was stated during the first meeting held recently in Muscat of the joint committee between UAE and Sultanate of Oman, which examined the problems of motor insurance that face the insurance companies in both countries.

 

H.E. Fatima Mohammed Ishaq Al Awadi, Deputy Director General of the Insurance Authority, and president of the UAE delegate in the meeting, affirmed in a press release that the first meeting discussed the activation of the unified insurance card on motor vehicles crossing the Arab countries “Orange Card”  for the UAE and Omani vehicles and settlement of claims between the insurance companies in both countries in case of comprehensive insurance and in case of civil liability insurance “third party”, as well as the settlement of outstanding claims between the insurance companies in the UAE and Sultanate of Oman.

 

The meeting which was chaired by Mohamed bin Taqi bin Ibrahim Al-Jamalani, Vice President of Insurance Operations Control at the Capital Market Authority (CMA), was attended by a representative of Emirates Insurance Association which includes all the insurance companies licensed to operate in the State as members as well as a representative of Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company being the Unified Regional Bureau at the UAE as agreed by the insurance companies operating in the State in line with the implementation of the unified insurance card agreement on motor vehicles crossing the Arab countries “Orange Card”  as well as the CEO of the Oman Insurance Company and General Manager of the Omani Unified Bureau for the Orange Card.​
