Insurance Authority and Labour Ministry tie to support Emiratisation employment opportunities

Dubai October 18th, 2015: The Insurance Authority signed an MoU with the Ministry of Labour today as per a partnership agreement among both ends to contribute towards supporting Emiratisation in the insurance industry plus strengthening electronic linkage in between. His Excellency Mubarak Saeed Al Dhahiri Labour Ministry Undersecretary, signed the agreement alongside His Excellency Ibrahim Obaid Al Zaabi, Director General of the Insurance Authority, in the presence of a number of officials from both sides.

Al Zaabi, expressed gratitude towards signing the agreement which helps achieve the aspired visions and strategic objectives in the field of Emiratisation.

He explained, that the electronic linkage shall benefit the authority to better monitor Emiratisation indicators in the insurance sector on a regular basis and note down enterprises that contribute towards Emiratisation and update the list of citizens working within that particular sector."

He pointed out that the Insurance Authority has prepared plans aimed at increasing Emiratisation in the insurance sector through proposed initiatives and programs that have been designed to enhance the attractiveness of working in the insurance sector and plans in forming young citizens to fill technical, financial, legal and administrative positions in that vital sector.

“The memorandum aims to support employment of nationals in the insurance sector, which would contribute to the 2021 vision and establish a coordination between the two parties so as to ensure a direct information base relating labour market to the insurance sector," Al Dhahiri said.

Pointing out that through the framework of this cooperation, referring to the memorandum, information shall be swapped during inspectional visits carried out by ministry inspectors to verify information on citizens working in the insurance sector, then address all recorded notes to the one in the database to better control Emiratisation in the insurance sector periodically.
