Al Zaabi: We are keen to provide competitive and advanced smart services to serve policyholders and customers

During GITEX 2015 in which it participates for the first time, the Insurance Authority (IA) offers its new and advanced smart services rendered to the public, policyholders and customers including companies and insurance-related professions.
H.E. Ibrahim Obaid Al Zaabi, Director General of the IA, said that the IA is taking part in GITEX following the success it has achieved in living up to the orders of the UAE prudent leadership to adopt competitive smart services and develop the work performance and government functioning in order to build an advanced and contemporary Emirati society. The IA works to transform into a smart authority in service delivery and transactions provided to the public, insurance companies and insurance-related professions.
He confirmed that the IA is keen to provide the services in smooth and streamlined procedures that ensure access to such services anywhere anytime through effective and proficient implementation to achieve the IA’s vision to be a leader in the regulation and development of the insurance sector and upgrading its standards to rise up for global competition.
He explained that the IA utilizes all resources to continue updating and developing its services, as well as adopting the latest best smart technological means to serve the policyholders, the public, the customers and insurance companies and meet their expectations and aspirations.
The IA’s Director General pointed out that out of 47 transformable services provided to customers and public, the IA has electronically transformed more than 38 services that are now delivered through smart phones and mobile devices. He said the IA will continue to transform the remaining services with high determination to reflect the aspirations of the prudent leadership to place the UAE at the forefront of other countries worldwide in terms of development and modernization.
He added that the IA has attained 100% on the electronic and smart transformation index of government services according to the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority Report 2015.
Smart services provided by the IA include receiving and settlement of complaints, provision of insurance advice, renewal of registration for national and foreign insurance companies and registration of branches thereof, renewal of registration, renewal of registration for insurance agents, brokers, loss surveyors and damage adjustors, Actuaries, insurance consultants, TPA companies (both individuals and companies, where applicable) and registration of branches thereof, renewal of registration, application to amend the data of insurance companies, TPA companies, insurance agents and brokers, loss surveyors and damage adjustors, Actuaries, and insurance consultants (both individuals and companies, where applicable). Other services include automatic license renewal for companies and insurance-related professions, electronic payment of service charges, and follow-up on the procedures of services provided and delivery thereof on 24/7 basis.
Al Zaabi explained that IA smart services have achieved distinctive added value that contributed to promote the government business environment and boost the competitiveness of the insurance sector and business environment in the UAE. They have also contributed to provide better services to the UAE nationals, customers and the public round the clock. Insurance transactions are completed smoothly and easily while saving time and reducing cost, which enhances the development of concepts of quality and promotes a culture of innovation and government excellence, and ensures better utilization of human resources. Such development enables the amalgamation of similar work and linkage of relevant procedures in an efficient and effective manner.
He announced that the IA will launch, as part of its participation in GITEX 2015, the service of automatic renewal of licenses of companies and insurance-related professions. The service comprises two steps that only take less than one minute to renew the registration of companies (instead of 8 steps in the past).
He added that the IA will launch the Apple Watch though which the IA’s smart services will be installed on Apple Watch. It is an initiative marked with the simplicity of using smart services and promptness of executing transactions round the clock in addition to offering many other features, such as notices on all smart operations including licensing, registration, complaints and inquiry about the services. New services will be added in the future as well, such as creating a personal account, entering data of complaints and notices on close locations to provide excellent and high-quality smart insurance services.
