Al Zaabi: The IA Offers Competitive Smart Services to Customers and the Public

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited the Insurance Authority Stand at the Smart Government Fair held at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
During his tour in the Fair, H.H Sheikh Mansour was briefed on the approved smart systems and recent successes achieved by the IA in the field of smart transformation and smart services provided to insurance policyholders, customers or the public of different segments.
H.E. Ibrahim Obaid Al Zaabi, Director General of the Insurance Authority, said that the IA participation in the Smart Government Fair of 2015was intended to reflect the IA success in keeping up with the wise vision of the prudent leadership to adopt competitive smart applications, and develop the business environment and the Government Performance to build an advanced modern Emirati society. In addition, the IA is committed to implement the smart government initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai “May Allah Protect Him”.
He confirmed that IA has been making significant and continuous efforts to raise the level of insurance services and offer advanced competitive smart services for its customers, including policyholders and beneficiaries of insurance as well as companies and professions related to insurance. With simple and consistent steps, the IA ensures them access to such services anytime and anywhere. They are implemented efficiently and accurately in order to achieve its vision to be a leader in the regulation and development of the insurance sector as well as upgrading its criteria to compete globally.
He added that the IA provision of its services through smart devices is a significant turnaround in business development and performance in general, as such smart services constitute an added value to enhance the performance of work within the IA and to develop the performance of insurance companies and related professions, in addition to the development of business environment in the United Arab Emirates and support for the growth of the national economy.
He said that the Authority has succeeded during 2014 to transform 38 out of (47) electronically convertible services that were provided through paper work and manually into smart services provided through smart phones and portable devices. On the other hand, the IA will complete during this year the transformation of the remaining convertible services, which are (9) services, which will enable the IA to become a smart authority in delivering services to customers, partners and the public.
Smart services provided by the IA to meet the expectations and requirements of customers and public are divided into receiving complaints and insurance inquiries, renewal of registration of national and foreign insurance companies, registration and registration renewal of branches, registration renewal of individual and corporate insurance brokers, agents, surveyors and loss adjustors, actuaries, consultants and TPA companies, and registration and registration renewal of their branches in the Register. The services also include request for data amendment of insurance companies and TPA companies, as well as individual and corporate insurance brokers, agents, surveyors and loss adjustors, actuaries, consultants in the Register; as well as electronic payment of service charges, following up the provided services and delivery thereof around the clock during days of the week (24/7).
The IA provides the services to its customers through various means of delivery, notably mobile phones, tablets, 'SMS' messages and Interactive Voice Response "IVR", by a series of simple and easy steps that saves time and effort.
IA Director General explained that the provision of services via mobile phones and tablets allow customers to accomplish new services of transactions related to insurance through a chain of simple and easy steps, which save time and effort and contribute to developing the work performance in the IA and local insurance market, in addition to enhancing the competitive performance of business in the United Arab Emirates.
He confirmed the positive implications of smart transformation of services on work mechanisms at the IA, and the results of customer performance in terms of enhancing the quality of work, speed up the pace of work and saving time and effort, in addition to overcoming the difficulties.
Al Zaabi said that the transformation of services provided to customers into smart services helped carrying out organized operations, streamlined procedures, increase service and performance efficiency at affordable cost and reduced processing time. Thus, the best human resources are hired, similar transactions are integrated and relevant procedures are inter-linked, as well as better services are provided to citizens, customers and public around the clock.
