Insurance Authority discuss information exchange and training cooperation with Britain

Mrs. Francis, Director of Trade and Investment of the British Embassy in Abu Dhabi UAE-UK relations in the field of Insurance, training, and exchange of information. The two sides discussed as well, the practical mechanisms to follow-up outcomes of the second meeting of the UAE-British Joint Economic Committee held in Abu Dhabi during September last concerning insurance sector and the possibility of dispatching a number of UAE nationals working for the national insurance companies for training and increasing their scientific and practical knowledge at specialized British companies and centers. H.E. hailed, during the meeting, the great developing economic relations of the two countries and activation of the economic investment relations between them. She drew the attention to the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the field of insurance particularly, in respect of training.
H.E. expressed her pleasure for the quantum leap witnessed by UAE insurance sector and attractivity of the local insurance market to the operations of the International insurance companies opted to take up UAE as regional locations for their companies in the Gulf. She indicated that UAE insurance market encompasses 61 national and foreign companies operating under an umbrella of advanced laws and rules in highly competitive environment. In her turn, the British official acknowledged the mounting growth of UAE economic and the great opportunities existing in the different fields and sectors (insurance among them) referring to the British Insurance companies’ keenness to utilize the insurance opportunities of UAE market. She stressed on the importance of exchanging visits and training and cognitive cooperation in the field of insurance between the friendly two countries. The two sides agreed during the meeting to organize many training programs for UAE nationals to be trained in specialized British training centers and companies in fields to be specified later beside tailored training workshop by specialized British personal working for the local insurance companies.​
