Fatima AL Awadi: Unread terms and conditions has their share in insurance contracts disputes

: 5/21/2012
H.E. Fatima Mohammed Ishaq Al Awadi, Deputy Director General of the Insurance Authority assured that the clients’ non-reading of the contained terms and conditions and non-fully comprehending the insurance works in general forms part of the dispute between the insurance companies and the clients over the insurance policies.
She indicated in a statement to Economic Vision that the policies are subject to the contractual relation between the two sides except in the case of motor vehicle insurance covering civil liability emerging from accidents, loss and damage.
She indicated that the Insurance Authority’s role is limited to reviewing the contracts of all sorts taking into consideration the above perception as its role is clearly seen in supervision.
